Olivia Tyndall

7th Grade Math

Mrs. Tyndall graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Mathematics. She earned her certification in both elementary and middle school math and currently teaches seventh grade math. Mrs. Tyndall loves teaching math because of the many different ways problems can be solved and she gets to see all the different ways students learn.  What she loves about teaching the most is the “ah-ha” moment students have when they understand or discover something while learning with others.  When Mrs. Tyndall is not teaching, she enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling with her husband, and reading a good book.

Hallee Carr

7th Grade Science

Miss Carr graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Middle School Science. She earned certification in the area of middle school science and teaches seventh grade science. Miss Carr loves teaching science because of its inquisitive nature. Her favorite thing about teaching is to see how excited students are when they figure something out through their own investigations. It is so fulfilling to watch students make connections themselves using the inquiry process. 

 

Thompson

Maria Thompson

7th Grade Social Studies

Mrs. Thompson graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and also earned her Master's Degree in ESOL Literacy from Wilmington University. She earned certification in the area of middle school social studies and teaches seventh grade World Geography. When Mrs. Thompson is not teaching, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and three children.  

 


Scarborough

Leanne Scarborough

7th Grade Math

Mrs. Scarborough teaches 7th grade mathematics.  She graduated from Salisbury University with a degree in elementary education, Master’s Degree in education, and earned certification in middle school mathematics.  In her free time, Mrs. Scarborough enjoys Red Sox baseball, reading, scrapbooking, and camping with her husband and two daughters. 

“It is very difficult to have a boring day at work when you’re a teacher.  You always leave work with at least one exciting, funny or interesting story to tell!”


Shockley

Kim Shockley

7th Grade ELA

Mrs. Shockley teaches 7th Grade English Language Arts.  She has her B.S. from Widener University followed by a Master's Degree from Wilmington University. She has worked in the Middle School of SHMS since 2001. Mrs. Shockley has a passion for reading which is why she teaches ELA.  She believes that reading opens our eyes to different cultures, helps us understand one another better, and takes us to worlds that we may never visit otherwise. 

 


Mrs. Kozlowski

Christina Kozlowski

7th Grade ELA

Mrs. Kozlowski is a 7th grade ELA teacher. She received a Bachelor's degree from West Chester University, a second Bachelor's degree from Salisbury University in Education and also earned her Master’s Degree from The College of Notre Dame of Maryland. Her teaching profession began ten years ago at Snow Hill Middle School where she has taught 4th grade as well as 7th and 8th grade ELA. She strives to provide opportunities for all students to grow both academically and personally while building relationships that make a positive lasting impact. Mrs. Kozlowski finds the most gratifying part of her career watching students achieve their goals.
